“Choose a job you love and you will never work a day in your life.” –Confucius

And so he did…

Doug Edgell turned his passion for the guitar into a relevant business that allows his students and fans to share in his love for music.

His name is synonymous with the Pittsburgh music scene.  His multifaceted business affords him the opportunity to be engaged in all aspects of the music community.  He is redefining what it means to be a working musician today by offering such a diverse set of skills to his students and clients.

Most of his time is spent giving private guitar lessons.  Doug constructs individual curriculum's for each student.  While he still teaches beginners, his focus has moved more towards mid-level to advanced students.  He has attracted a unique group of clients who opt for his Guitar Concierge Service, which includes a custom curriculum, weekly phone and/or Facetime meetings, purchasing assistance for guitars (www.nstuffmusic.com) and pick up/drop off service for guitar repair (www.mannellguitars.com).

As his client list and the demand for more intense lessons grew,  (www.fingersonthefrets.com) was conceived. This website is a comprehensive online guitar curriculum containing videos, .pdf files and interactive guitar Pro 6 files.

Live performance has always been a part of Doug’s career path.  The Doug Edgell Trio performs locally at many restaurants, private parties and corporate events.  Doug, longtime friend Kelly Bell and former student Aaron Majiros keep audiences, of all ages, engaged with a uniquely diverse show that includes rock, blues, R&B, acoustic and jazz.

Doug also has the extraordinary opportunity to provide many local brides and grooms the soundtrack to their wedding ceremonies and cocktail hours.  Whether it is classical, jazz or his own arrangements of today’s popular tunes, his music is always a welcome addition to the day.
